Referee Assault

Suffolk FA has today received reports alleging that on Sunday, 1st April, a player deliberately spat at a match official causing the abandonment of a DMR Ipswich Sunday Football League match.

The incident is currently under investigation and the player will remain under suspension from all football until such a time that these investigations are concluded.

Suffolk FA will not tolerate any sort of assault on match officials or any other participant and is committed to working with leagues and clubs to eradicate such behaviour from the game. Suffolk FA is providing the match official with support at this difficult time.

“Your having a laugh, Ref!”

Graham Apperley the Leagues' Fixture Secretary has finally put his reminisces and experiences of a referee into print in various Leagues in the area.

This is a “tongue in cheek” look at football played at all levels, and is an amusing look at grassroots football.

The DMR Ipswich Sunday Football League are pleased to be associated with this publication and have sponsored a print run together with Hadleigh Tyre Services, and 300 copies are already at the printers.

The book sells for £5.00 per copy with all proceeds going to the E.A.C.H. Charity.

The book is for sale ahead of the official launch at a day at the children’s hospice, and Graham is taking orders for copies. To order your copy simply email grahamapperley@msn.com.

ALL SALES PROCEEDS GO TO THE CHARITY.

Please urge your players to purchase a copy for an enjoyable read and help a very worth while cause on the way.

Fabian Wilnis signs for the ISFL

DMR sponsored Ipswich Sunday Football League are happy to announce that Jemsz UK will be sponsoring the ISFL cup finals this season. Jemsz UK Ltd is a new sports clothing brand with local football in mind.  The company is run by local ex-pro Fabian Wilnis, formally of Ipswich Town Football Club.  Fabian says “Having been a professional footballer for nearly 20 years, I have won my fair share of football kits.  This has given me a unique insight into what a player wants and needs to get out of their kit. I hope you love this new range as much as I do”.

DMR recommend the Jemsz UK football kits to all its clubs and players.  Bob Friend, Chairman of the DMR league said “the quality of Jemsz sportswear is by far the best I have ever seen, and in these tough economic times its real quality at a budget price.  The delivery of seven working days will be a real asset to clubs”.

It was good to meet Fabian, the Ipswich Town legend and have a preview of the exciting Jemsz range.

So when you are looking for a new kit, there’s only one place to go - and that’s Jemsz UK.

“Help Save Ransomes!”

Firstly a big thank you to all those of you who responded to my emails regarding Ransomes Sports,  the target was almost reached with the membership, but feel free to show your support for local football and if you are not a member at present then pop along to Sidegate Avenue with your £1 coin.

As always goal posts get moved and this is the case with Ransomes Sports, Ipswich Borough Council are now requiring 10,000 signatures to say that they want Ransomes to stay and not change from its present format as a community sports centre. At present 15 different sports take place at Ransomes on a regular basis.

Once again local football needs your support you can add your name to the list by going online, click on the link below and don’t forget to forward this e-mail to all in your address book, there are 3500 registered players in the ISFL if all signed in Ransomes are almost halfway there.

As I said before ‘once it’s gone its gone’

Thanking you in advance for your help and cooperation
